Community Services for People with Intellectual Disabilities

Beijing Huiling provides services for people with autism, intellectual disabilities, and Down syndrome.

Through its community-based family model, participants live together much like an ordinary family, sharing household responsibilities as well as the joys and challenges of everyday life. In this natural, real-life environment, they develop the skills needed to live more independently within the community. Each year, Huiling provides approximately 5,200 person-days of life-skills rehabilitation and training for autistic participants. It also actively supports participants in taking part in a wide range of community inclusion activities, making use of public community resources and interacting with others in real-life settings. Through these experiences, Huiling helps people with intellectual disabilities participate equally in community life and enjoy richer, more meaningful, and more connected everyday lives.
